Spend the Afternoon with US

This is an outdoor open-air farmers market. We would love to have you come and spend an afternoon with us.

  • Reusable Cloth or Food Grade bags are welcome.

  • Grab some lunch from one of our food vendors and take a seat to enjoy your meal or snack in the park.

  • Listen to one of the entertainers.

  • Learn from our Chefs during a cooking demonstration.

  • Join a class (Yoga | Exercise etc.)

  • Get a Chair or Table Massage

  • Paint in the kid zone.

Cooking Demonstrations

Calling all Licensed and Insured Cooks / Chefs we would love to have you become one of our teaching chefs. Come and teach the community how to cook something delicious.

What We Ask

  • 30-minute culinary demonstration followed by a 15-30 minute Q&A period

  • Prepare approximately 25 tasting portions to sample

  • Provide written recipe before the demo to aid in promotions

  • Bring knives, pans, and any other equipment or personnel you need to complete your demonstration. 

What We Provide

  • $250 stipend

  • A tented demonstration area with two tables and plates/bowls/utensils for sampling

  • Digital media mentions across our community members

Cooking Demonstrations 2023

We appreciate Beyond Hunger for partnering with us to produce chef demo’s this market season (2023).

Maria Delis, RN LDN has been a dietitian with Beyond Hunger since 2010. She co-leads the nutrition education program and is a preceptor to dietetic interns completing their community nutrition rotation.

Maria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Medical Dietetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also completed her dietetic internship. Maria loves learning new recipes and enjoys attending international culinary tours with the Food and Culinary

Professionals of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has cooked in Bologna, Parma, Rome and Sardinia, as well as London and Paris. Her most recent culinary tour was June 2022 in Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. She believes learning how to cook empowers families to eat better and cook together!
